“When the pain subsided, life felt like my own again” – The Story of Gitta Förster

Gitta Förster, 60, has lived with pain for almost her entire life. Fibromyalgia, migraines, and depression dominated her daily life for many years – until she found a treatment that addressed the very areas where her quality of life was most severely limited.

“I woke up in pain.”

That’s how Gitta Förster describes the time before her treatment with Sooma tDCS. Every morning began with pain. Managing the household, walking the dog, and being there for her family and grandchildren often took all the energy she had.

“I was actually glad that, around noon, I had the chance to lie down and rest. And in the evening, I was always happy when the day was over and I could go to bed early.”

Pain Had Been Part of Her Life Since Childhood

For Gitta, pain had been part of life since childhood. Muscle aches, aching limbs, and headaches were long dismissed as growing pains.

It wasn’t until many years later that she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Around the same time, her depression was finally recognized. Its roots dated back to her childhood, which ultimately led her to seek professional help.

Over the years, she tried numerous medications.

“I didn’t really feel like a human being anymore.”

Less Pain, Fewer Migraines

When she was offered the chance to try Sooma tDCS, Gitta decided to go ahead with the treatment.

Today, the treatment is a fixed part of her morning routine. Before taking her dog for a walk, she makes herself a cup of coffee, sits down in her favorite armchair, and completes her 20-minute pain treatment.

“That’s my energy boost, so to speak.”

The biggest change she noticed was in her pain.

“It really helped my aching limbs. My aching limbs and my migraines.”

She used to suffer from severe migraine attacks on a regular basis. Today, they occur only rarely.

“I’ve had them maybe three times this year, but they’ve been rather mild.”

More Energy for the Things She Loves

As the pain subsided, her joy in everyday life gradually returned.

Gitta now spends more time in her garden, her biggest hobby. She has also rediscovered her love of pottery and drawing.

“That had been dormant for a long time. Now it’s started to come back.”

She also enjoys spending more time with friends again – going hiking, out to restaurants, or to the movies – activities she often didn’t have the energy for in the past.

“Because my pain levels have decreased, I have so many more reasons to laugh again.”

Small Changes Make a Big Difference

Fibromyalgia and depression are still part of her life. Nevertheless, Gitta feels that life is much more enjoyable today.

She sleeps better than before, and most importantly, pain no longer dictates every hour of her day.

“I’m incredibly grateful for that.”

“The Most Precious Gift I’ve Ever Received”

When asked what Sooma tDCS means to her today, Gitta doesn’t hesitate.

“For me, it’s the most precious gift I’ve ever received.”

She hopes her story encourages others living with depression.

“Get back up, straighten your crown, and keep going.”

And if someone is wondering whether to try Sooma tDCS, her recommendation is clear.

“Because I truly believe there’s nothing better. It doesn’t hurt, and it takes very little time. Even the 20 minutes I have, I can use for myself. That’s my time – time I set aside just for myself, so that I can feel good.”
