Our Sooma therapies

Sooma provides unique therapy solutions that combine effectiveness with ease-of-use. Our therapies are indicated for:

  • Major Depressive Disorder
  • Chronic pain disorders, such as Fibromyalgia and Chronic Neuropathic Pain.

The therapies use a noninvasive brain stimulation technique called transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and are given using our portable medical device Sooma tDCS. Our therapies have been proven effective in placebo-controlled trials, and the majority of patients feel relief in their symptoms after a few weeks.

Trusted by clinicians worldwide

Sooma is a world-leading provider of effective brain stimulation treatments for psychiatric and neurological disorders. The therapies are drug-free and can be used either as a first-line of treatment or to bring additive effects to other forms of treatment. Our therapies are used by healthcare professionals in 35 countries worldwide to treat patients, with proven results of efficacy.

New Sooma Duo:

Manage, Measure, and Optimize treatments remotely — at any scale

The first EU MDR-certified tDCS system is here. Sooma Duo pairs our latest Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) device with a digital platform for remote patient guidance and clinical management of treatment sessions.

  • Empower clinicians with data
Customize all of your patients’ treatment protocols and view patient-reported outcome statistics at a glance in one easy-to-use, secure platform.
  • Engage patients in their care
The system guides patients through tDCS sessions, sends helpful reminders, and collects outcome questionnaires for simple and effective self-administered treatments.
  • Ensure treatment compliance
The platform puts clinicians with full control of device use and provides built-in adherence reports, adding a new level of safety and precision to the treatment process.

The Sooma Duo is EU MDR-certified and built upon Sooma’s market-leading clinical tDCS technology.

For healthcare professionals

In Sooma Depression Therapy, tDCS is used to modulate the function of the prefrontal areas of the brain with the aim of normalising the hypoactivity of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC).

Sooma Pain Therapy is indicated for the treatment of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Neuropathic pain. Here, tDCS is used to modulate the function of the motor cortex based on this area’s role in processing pain signals.

How does it work?

The efficacy of Sooma’s therapies is built on our portable medical device Sooma tDCS. It uses a noninvasive brain stimulation technique called transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) to deliver a weak 2mA electrical current to targeted areas of the brain. The electrical current is given through two electrodes and a headcap. The headcap ensures that the stimulation is always delivered to the correct area.

Complete with its accessories (cables, electrodes, cap) and an online platform, Sooma tDCS forms a reliable, easy-to-use treatment system.
