Psykiatripäivät is the Finnish Psychiatric Association’s largest training event, bringing psychiatrists, residents, and mental health professionals together twice a year. Sooma, a Finnish medical device company, will be exhibiting at the autumn edition.
Sooma tDCS is a CE-marked transcranial direct current stimulation system for the treatment of depression, developed in Helsinki and used in psychiatric clinics across Europe. The treating clinician sets the protocol; sessions take under half an hour, and the same protocol can continue as supervised home therapy, with the clinic maintaining control of the course of treatment. It fits into a treatment plan alongside medication and therapy and gives clinicians something to offer patients who cannot tolerate or prefer to avoid pharmacological treatment.
