Nurse’s tDCS experience: Patients are more energetic, with fewer somatic symptoms and sleep issues.

Janne Voort has been working as a family nurse in Estonia for over 10 years. During this time, she has become increasingly interested in mental health. This has led her to research the topic and participate in several training sessions focused on anxiety and depression. She now advises many young patients on mental health at her health center and has gained a significant amount of experience with tDCS along the way.

She first encountered Sooma tDCS during a training session a number of years ago. “I’ll be honest, I’m excited about it.” Janne says, “I was the one to propose to my employer to purchase this device for our center.”

Since then, she’s been using tDCS to treat depression with her patients. She states, “I recommend the tDCS treatment, especially for depression, and it also helps with their anxiety, low energy levels, and insomnia.”

When introducing tDCS to patients, Janne describes the treatment’s practicalities and offers hope by explaining, “So far, scientific research has shown that the stimulation methodology used in the procedure can be effective even when the previous treatments have been ineffective.”

Janne also highlights the treatment’s minimal side effect profile and ease of use. “A big plus of the tDCS is that there are very few side effects—only slight redness (on the skin) and slight tingling.” She adds, “Using the device is very easy.”

She’s seen firsthand how the treatment can make a positive difference in patients’ lives through her experience with tDCS.

“After treatment, patients are more energetic, have fewer somatic symptoms, and sleep disorders occur less often. They experience an increased will to act.”
