tDCS is the treatment of the future
Medical Doctor and Psychiatrist Margus Lõokene has been practicing psychiatry since 2010. He has been using Sooma tDCS regularly for mental health treatment since the fall of 2016. “I see tDCS as an effective and safe treatment method in psychiatry, and I am more than convinced that this method has a bright future ahead of it.”
So far, Dr. Lõokene has used Sooma tDCS therapy for clinical purposes, primarily for mental health disorders, but also for anxiety and ADHD treatment. “Since we started using Sooma tDCS in our clinic, we have seen a variety of outcomes, but generally, the results have been positive,” Dr. Lõokene explains.
Regarding the most noticeable differences observed in patients before and after Sooma tDCS therapy, Dr. Lõokene states that “…the first thing we notice is reduced anxiety […], later, patients become more emotionally responsive, more active, and after treatment, we often receive feedback from patients that their ability to function in daily life has improved, including work and social activities.”
Finally, Dr. Lõokene says, “…of course, I would recommend tDCS therapy to patients” – and in practice, he often does. In his view, tDCS as a treatment option is effective, very safe, and well-tolerated without harmful side effects.
